Making new layers in Macromedia Dreamweaver.

1. Have you defined your site?

 

1.Create blank page ( or use a page that you want layers on)
2. drag layers from layer tool on tp blank page

3. Once it is on the screen you can move it around by it's layer handle

4. Do not delete the layer symbol
5. using the handle, you can drag the layer anywhere that you want on the page.Remember you are setting an absolute location not a relative location. What does that mean? that means if X ( horizontal pixels) and Y ( vertical pixels) are bot set to 0 at the upper left hand corner, when you drag your layer it is set absoulutely ( exactly) where you wnat it on the screen..

Layername= layers can be named
Layer location= absolute address on the page
Z -Index /Layer ID= levels of layers, 1 is lowre than 2, 2 is lower than 3 etc....
